The Re-Cognition Responsible Research and Innovation training took place on the 3rd and 4th of July 2019, in Bristol, UK. The Public Engagement team, University of Bristol hosted the meeting. Representatives from nearly all project partners attended this two-day training session. The main aim of this training session was to introduce the team to the concept of RRI and what role it will play in the Re-Cognition project.
Participants had to take part in sessions that required them to think about the legacy the project could have in 5, 20 or 100 years time, anticipate what positive and negative impacts the project might have on people and nature and agree on an RRI pledge that will help align our project work to the RRI framework. The training will be followed up by regular focus groups with attendees to continue discussions and reflections on RRI throughout the project.
